Darrell L. Horn
Founder
Darrell is a founder of Green Square Capital Wealth Management and a member of the firm’s management committee and Investment Committee. At our firm, Darrell supervises quantitative portfolio management, operations and trading. Prior to founding Green Square, Darrell was a vice president in Goldman Sachs’ Investment Management Division as well as the Fixed Income Currency and Commodities Division. With his 25 years of experience, Darrell also has managed the Investment Services division of SunTrust Bank and was an executive vice president and head of Capital Markets for First American Bank in Nashville, Tenn. Darrell graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance from Mississippi State University and a master’s degree in economics from Vanderbilt University. Darrell recently served as chairman of the board of the Church Health Center in Memphis, Tenn.
Steven W. Sansom
Founder
Steve is a founder of Green Square Capital Wealth Management and a member of the firm’s management committee and Investment Committee. Steve directs our firm’s strategic planning process, overseeing its service and distribution platforms. With 18 years of experience, he has served as vice president in Goldman Sachs’ Investment Management Division, and as member of its investment approach committee. Steve also worked in the Debt Capital Markets Group and Equity Research Sales Group in the Global Capital Markets Division at Merrill Lynch in New York. He received a BBA with Honors in Finance from The Else School of Management at Millsaps College. He attended Harvard Business School’s executive education program as well as The National Defense University at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C. Steve currently serves on the boards of the Else School of Management at Millsaps College, Wilson Research Foundation, Carnival Memphis and Charles Schwab Institutional. Steve is an active member of the Young Presidents Organization chairing the YPO-WPO International Wealth Management Conference in 2006 and 2008.
Anne H. Barger
Executive Assistant
Anne’s primary responsibility is coordinating travel and events for the Green Square team, however her daily activities are too numerous to list. She is a true all-purpose player and an invaluable Green Square asset. Anne’s prior work experience includes fundraising for the American Cancer Society, a career at Westaff Personnel Management and Recruiting, and IBM sales and marketing.
Cato Ellis
Business Development
Cato’s role as a business development officer is a natural fit due to his active role in civic and community organizations. Cato, known to his friends as Bubba, was formerly the CEO and chairman of Munford Union Bank. He also worked as business development officer at Legacy Wealth Management in Memphis, Tenn. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Richard A. Finch
Chief Financial Officer & Chief Compliance Officer
Richard is responsible for regulatory compliance, financial reporting, and implementation of policies and procedures. He was formerly an executive vice president at the Spectra Group, Inc., the CFO of United Auto Delivery and Recovery, and began his career at Ernst & Young LLP. Richard graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Rhodes College and received his M.B.A. from the Owen School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
Mindy M. Helms
Client Analyst
Mindy’s duties as client analyst include performing money movement for clients, the opening and maintenance of accounts, and many other client coordination activities. She came to Green Square from Carnival Memphis where she was an executive assistant. Mindy graduated with honors from the University of Memphis and holds a Bachelor of Arts in business administration.
Alison G. Henneberger
Investment Advisor
As an investment advisor, Alison is responsible for coordinating the asset allocation strategies for our clients. She comes to Green Square from Dunavant Enterprises, Inc. where she was an assistant vice president and manager. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri and holds a Series 65 license.
Mekenzie T. Hopkins,
Client Analyst
As a client analyst, Mekenzie serves our clients by handling all money movement transactions, maintaining and opening accounts, and coordinating and responding to client needs. Mekenzie began her career as a sales assistant in the High-Net Worth Management division of Morgan Keegan. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee.
Betsy N. Humphreys
Vice President, Senior Investment Advisor
Betsy is a senior investment advisor responsible for managing the asset allocation strategies for her clients. Betsy worked as a sales associate at FTN Financial in the Institutional Fixed Income Group. She received her degree from the University of Tennessee. She holds the Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses.
Danny B. Martin
Business Development
Danny is a member of the Investment Committee and is responsible for developing relationships with institutional clients. Prior to Green Square, Danny was the vice president, regional sales and marketing at HSBC. He worked as a senior trader of government securities at Merrill Lynch and holds an M.A. in economics from the University of Memphis and a Bachelor of Arts from Mississippi State University.
Christopher F. Prest
Director of Equity Trading
Christopher manages the implementation, trading and processes for the Green Square portfolios. He joined Green Square after working as an institutional fixed income analyst for Morgan Keegan. He began his career as an analyst at Merrill Lynch in the High-Net Worth Wealth Management Group. He holds a Bachelor of Business Science from Southern Methodist University and is a Level I candidate for Chartered Financial Analyst.
Michael A. Puckett
Director of Fixed Income Trading and Reporting
Michael handles the fixed income trading for the Green Square portfolios and is responsible for all of the client performance reporting. Michael started with Green Square as an intern while attending Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. After earning a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Business Administration from Millsaps, he joined Green Square as a financial analyst. Michael is a Level II candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst credential.
Matthew J. Saenger
Vice President, Senior Investment Advisor
Matt develops and manages the asset allocation strategies of his clients. Matt was formerly the COO of the Fund of Hedge Funds, G2 Advisors. Matt began his career as an analyst at Electronic Data Systems (EDS). He received his Bachelor of Business Administration with honors from the University of Mississippi. He holds Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses and has passed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst exam.
Ryan S. Taylor
Financial Analyst
Ryan’s role as financial analyst includes financial modeling and coordination of outside manager due diligence. Prior to Green Square, Ryan was an investment database analyst at LCG Associates, Inc. Ryan graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts in economics and a minor in business administration.
James A. West, CFA
Chief Investment Officer and Institutional Investment Advisor
James is a member of the Investment Committee and manages the implementation of the asset allocation strategies over the entire Green Square Portfolio. James also manages client relationships focusing on institutional entities. Prior to Green Square, James was a senior vice president, Trust and Investment Management at First Tennessee Bank and was the chairman of the Trust Investment Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Virginia and is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Financial Planner.
